Planetarium of Strasbourg

The planetarium of Strasbourg is located in the heart of the city, its special ambience makes the visitors dream. Amazing pictures show the impressive world of the stars. A visit in the planetarium is always worth it - espacially when it's rainy outside or in order to relax a little.

It is located at the area of the university Louis Pasteur. The dome offers place for 65 persons who can live the spectacular experience of a cosmic journey. The show is interactive and an exclusive sound system makes everyone feel like if he is in space.

Discover the southern sky

In the planetarium, visitors can get an impression of the work of the astronomers examining the southern part of the sky and its stars. One can discover constellations never seen before because they don't appear in in European latitudes, like for example the famous Southern Cross. During the virtual journey, one will discover what can be seen from the observatory in Chile and go back to the current constellation above Strasbourg.  

Vault of the stars

In the "vault of the stars", the visitor can discover astronomy through interactive screen stations, multi media installations and more. Plus, one can access current research data concerning astronomy and similar sciences. If you are interested in the astronomic history of Strasbourg, you will find information in the "vault of stars" as well.

Opening hours of the planetarium

On schooldays: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm, Wednesday and Sunday from 1.45pm to 5.30pm.

During school holidays: Monday to Friday from 10.15am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5.30pm, Sunday from 1.45pm to 5.30pm.
