Palais des Rohan (Palace of the Rohan)

The former palace of the prince-bishops of Strasbourg is a highlight for art history lovers.

From 1730 to 1742, the classical palace was built by Joseph Massol after the guidelines of Robert de Cotte. It was constructed for the prince-bishop Armand-Gaston de Rohan-Soubise and today, you find three museums in it:

• the archeological museum
• the museum of arts and crafts
• a picture gallery and the bishops' rooms
